    Just got back from a sneak preview of the new Omnimax feature "Wired to
    Win: Surviving the Tour de France". It's a ~ 50 minute big-screen
    feature combining brain science with stories of two riders in the 2003
    tour. There was too much brain science for my taste, but the large
    wrap-around screen action shots from the tour were spectacular.

    The film features Francaise Des Jeux riders Baden Cook and Jimmy Casper.
    There's a rumour that it had originally been shot to feature Tyler
    Hamilton but that he was mostly cut from the film after his positive
    drug tests, but there's no way I could tell whether this was true or
    not. There was one shot of Hamilton labouring away, jersey open, with
    the bandage for his fractured collarbone showing, but his name was never
    mentioned. Lance haters will be delighted that Armstrong gets scant
    mention in the film.

    I saw it at Vancouver's Science World, and I'm sure it will be showing
    in other large-screen Imax and Omnimax theaters around the world. It
    opens in Vancouver on December 17. I thought it was worth seeing for
    the panoramic tour shots alone.

    I don't think that particular George Bush appeared in the movie. The
    other ones certainly didn't.

    I see the website also has a panel on "John Tomlinson". Is that "our"
    John?

    I'd like to see the Directors Cut dvd, that includes the original
    version: "Wired to Win with My Invisible Twin." I heard they had a
    lot of raw footage with Hamiliton and CSC, shame to waste it.

    Interesting too, is that Cyclingnews referred to the testing protocols on
    Hamilton's case as "Wire in the Blood".

    The problem was I didn't have a crew to rig up a strap to hold up my
    head. Without a crew strapping your head up, you're nowhere.
