You bet. Go see what Ed Gin's mind is like!

But Tom Sherman thinks all of this is just fine and dandy. Something about
parody and satire you know. The only question I have at this point is what
will it take to embarrass Tom Sherman? Excretory and sexual allusions will
not do it apparently. Maybe a good trip to the old woodshed and a good horse
whipping on his backside might knock some sense into him.

ARBR does not care about [censored] like Ed Gin. But here we have Tom Sherman
catering to the newbies who come here in all their innocence asking really
stupid questions which Tom Sherman stoops to answer, and all the time Tom
Sherman is not any better than Ed Gin. Or is he? We here on ARBR need to
know! Why won't Tom Sherman weigh in on the issue of disgusting and obscene
    blogs related to cycling. ?

    Ed Dolan - Minnesota

Well Ed, it's like this. Tom Sherman's unwillingness to take a stand
in this matter is indicative of the fact that he actually approves of
the disgusting and obscene HRS blog and those who are responsible.
There simply is no other explanation. One word sums it all up ...
    complicity!

The HRS blog entries would be harmless if people that did not
appreciate them had the mental discipline to ignore them. One would
think men at or near retirement age would have figured that out.

I, of course, would not be caught dead ever looking at an Ed Gin blog. But
still, all the spamming that goes on here in regard to these blogs is not
right. Anyone got a solution to that?

What about all these spamming posts to ARBR? What does Mr. Sherman propose
to do about them? I know Ed Gin and he is not going to go away. He is evil
incarnate. He is King Kong! He is Godzilla!...

I was not aware that Ed Dolan and Ed Gin had met in real life. As KK
would point out, they are two different things.

If Ed Dolan really knew what was going on, he would not make the same
assumptions about the real identity of Johnny NoCom, the HRS blog
    author(s), etc.

Every time I review those posts of last winter I am on the verge of having a
heart attack or stroke. If you knew what was going on, then why didn't you
say something? I am only going on a common sense assumption about who was
    doing what to whom.

The bottom line is that I cannot believe what a cesspool ARBR has become. It
is impossible for me to believe that we are mostly older folks who should
know better and yet I see nothing but teenage behavior on this group. Who
are these juveniles and where do they come from? Everyone knows that
recumbents are for older folks. Why can't we have some dignity here?

  8. Ed,

If one acccepts the premise that the HRS blog would be harmless if
people ignored, one must accept the converse premise; that if not
ignored, the HRS would not be harmless (read could be harmful).

The HRS blog couldn't be harmful if it didn't exist, but it does. I
have to agree with Ed. Ignoring something doesn't make it go away
anymore than Tom ignoring Ed's statement, made it go away, but Tom
exercised the mental discipline to ignore the wisdom of Ed's
    contention (read dodged the issue).

Just cruising through some of the old stuff and thought I'd just
briefly weigh in on this issue. I've no intention of revisiting
(reopening) the debate itself. This is a peripheral issue to the
    debate.

I'm back periodically just to see what's happening and like a soap
opera, little has changed. It will be interesting to see how long this
whole thing will go on before it just fizzles out. It is just a matter
    of time I figure.

The blogs will eventually overreach themselves and will be taken down in a
lawsuit. It is a waste of time to discuss them here on ARBR other than what
is posted here, whether complete messages or links. I think the best policy
is to ignore them or else respond with just some appropriate boilerplate.
We can all readily identify the sources by now, except for Mr. Sherman of
course. He is still contused about it but it is his natural state to be
confused about most things under the sun.

The main effect of the blogs posting their messages or links here on ARBR is
to scare off newbies. They will have no effect on any of us who know what is
going on. Even Mr. Sherman has brains enough to shut up about them for the
    most part.

I stand by my contention that ARBR was murdered by a single criminal vandal
troll who goes by the name of Ed Gin. And Mr. Sherman stood by and let it
happen. Ask yourself, do you really want to belong to a group that caves in
    like ARBR did.

I believe ARBR has been effectively destroyed as a newsgroup. It will not
come back. If anyone wants to discuss anything recumbent related he will
have to go a moderated forum such as BROL. It is a final irony that even Mr.
Sherman will end up on BROL since he did not have the brains or the courage
to defend ARBR when it came under attack from the Chicagoland [censored].

The reason why this has come to pass is because of the way our human natures
are constituted. It is insane to think that we humans can ever govern
ourselves responsibly without policemen and soldiers. One bad apple will
always spoil the barrel. Newbies, the lifeblood of all newsgroups, will not
come here anymore because of the recent shenanigans.

I think you've got that all wrong. These jerks are posting their
messages and links for one purpose only ... to draw attention to their
nefarious creation. Whether one approves or not, there is no arguing
that a lot of time and effort has been invested and they are in need of
an audience. These sickos are desperate for someone to view their
handiwork. The posted text and links is intended to lure the reader
.... to focus the limelight on their trash. If they fail to attract an
audience, the blog will fail and the authors will forever be remembered
for their extensive efforts of defamation that backfired and served
    only to denigrate the authors.
