Must have been the S9 or maybe the Z5? I have an F9, which was not nearly as
costly. There's a range here 🙂 I think the least expensive is around $169?
I could be wrong, but that's just going by what I've seen.

$3200? That's what we paid for our 1966 LeMans convertible, brand new.
Of course our last car cost more than our second house did. D*mn
Vietnamese War and the inflation it brought.... We could still be
making $20K and living quite well, thenkyew.

Imagine what our grandkids will say about the Bush economic mess
when they are paying $100 a cup at Starbucks and $20 a gallon
at Shell for their $200,000 jalopy.

I saw the price sign from about 10 feet. Didn't feel clean enough to
get closer to it. I was admiring some Italian stoneware in the
department and blanched at the $109 price for a soup plate. Sales clerk
inquired of my interest and I said I was killing time but was curious to
know what made it worth $109. He said that's the price of doing
business with a non-third world country. True or not, he sounded kind
of haughty about it.

That's interesting. I hadn't realized Italy was a third world country. :-)
Maybe he meant China where the product was made? Anyway, why would it cost so much?
The wages are miniscule to the producer, the profits are humongous to the final retailer,
that's why it costs so darn much.
And his taking an attitude only shows he doesn't really have a clue, but he pretends to be
superior. Harumph.

Heh. I wasn't proud. Walked right up to it, thinking I'd spot the
unobtanium plating and the signature of El Exigente himself. Didn't
see either. _Did_ see the machine right next to it, which also was
going for well into four figures. Oh, well. What can one expect at a
store that sells $200 men's shirts _off the rack_?

LOL! Not only is the unobtanium plating rare and costly, it's nigh unto
invisible! Man, you have no idea how glad I am for confirmation of my

Sorry I didn't see this right away - we've been in Vegas for New
Year's Bowl game viewing and money losing.

My Capresso espresso machine was around $300 and that was 5 or 6 years
ago.

Go here - and they're still around $300. Neato machine.
