  1. Here's some pics from my ride at Bead Lake a few weeks ago. Lovely**fast** cedar forest trail, with
occasional rocky exposure bits along the lake. Can't wait to go back.

That's not my butt. That's my new pal Jen.

I was surprised at how lush it was in there too, one expects Ewoks to pop out at any time...

My guess would be "Bead Lake".

BTW Penny, where are the technical bits? As far as some furry furriners go on here, that must be a
"pretty but boring" trail system. JD

Literally on the WA/ID border up by the Pend'oreille river. (Ponderay is how you say that)

Wow, it looks awfully lush; I thought it was coastal stuff. Sounds like fun, anyway. And its not on
    fire, which is a plus.

Around the region, it's surprising how many lush cedar and white pine groves are tucked away in
cooler topography. There are still old growth groves to be found. And the Idaho panhandle gets a lot
more moisture than you would think.

Yep. My father has 66 acres right on the Pond'oreille river, just a few miles (I think) south of
Ione. Haven't been there myself, so I was a bit suprised by the pics he showed me. All my eastern WA
experience in the past 22 years has been on the eastern Cascades and the Columbia Plateau. The Gorge
is a nice place to go see Rush......
