I'd like to know why people are routinely hanging out and 'owning' this group with their

Well, you are your own moderator here actually. That means you have to set up your newsreader to
filter out threads and people till you arrive at something that does not annoy you as much as now.
Killfiling mr. Ed helps a lot although I wish people would stop arguing with him.
Good luck Mikael
Sorry, but the moderators here have been gone for their long Summer vacations. Shortly, they will
return and this group will be beaten back into shape.

No, there is no moderator. For a more moderated list, try the message board on Bentrider Online.

Yes. Arguing the incredibly stupid is pointless. First they drag you down to their level and beat
the hell out of you with their experience. Although Guy and Ian, while posting well considered
rebuttals haven't learned this simp;e lesson yet. Mr. Ed is like the Black Knight in "Monty Python's
Holy Grail". Armless and legless he proclaims that it's "only a flesh wound". Oblivious to his
mortal wounds he continues to spout the most incredible nonsense. "Mikael Seierup"

Kill file works just fine. Because I use it, several boring, argumentative contributors have totally
disappeared from my alt.rec.bicycle.recumbent in-box.

Mars Closer Than Ever to Earth: McCain, Dems Blame Bush
Mikael, Could you please tell me how to killfile Mr. Ed? I always ignore the OT-threads that do not
belong on the forum but the offenders insist on creeping into the other threads as well. Amazing how
very slight a provocation they find as a segue to introduce their politics. Aren't there specific
forums for raving lunatics to hang out at? This forum is "about the bike".
On the stock discussion forums it is easy to kill a poster because the posts are in sequence with no
grouping by thread. On the moderated Yahoo forums, the moderator can ban cronic offenders. I do not
see the mechanism to avoid specific posters on Google. Thanks for any help. Don

Before this turns into a "Blame Ed Dolan"- thread let me just add that I have him killfiled because
I realize we don't agree on anything except maybe cats and recumbents. Since it takes two to carry
on one of those long pointless "is not - is too"- threads killfiling him or others removes the
temptation to reply for me. I have contributed my share of OT and annoying political babble so not
polishing my halo here. 0;-)

Hmmm. You can do an advanced search in the group and exclude posts with the word "Dolan". (This
merely as an example. "Sherman" would work just as well) But the threads are not as easy to view
like that. Try and see if you like it. I didn't. I prefer my OE-newsreader with that german server.
Fast and reliable unlike Google or my local ISP. Guess you don't have access to one?

so enjoying the weather. (Recumbent content end)

Actually, there *are* moderated USENET groups. This one, ARBR, is not one of them. NPR moderated?
ABC, CNN, FOX, etc. too, then. %^)
Every post is a troll for response. Rising to the bait is a choice. OT or not. USENET groups are
communities. Some are wilder than others.

Hey Don, note all the [censored] and freaks that have posted to your complaint. Liberals one and all.
As far as I know I am the only conservative here. But what you say is typical for those of your
political persuasion. You can't stand to be disagreed with and think the whole world should think
like you, although you can't seem to win many elections any more (except in that loony bin that is
the entire West Coast - I note you are from California). The only people owning this newsgroup are
you jackass liberals, but you can't even get that fact right. Also, note how many of your fellow
liberals have "kill filed" me. That is because they are faint hearted and cowards and are not used
to being disagreed with. But it is good riddance as far as I am concerned. They have brayed their
jackass noises long enough on ARBR. It was getting positively incestuous until I showed up.
What is truly disgusting are all the Brits and Euros who post to this newsgroup complaining about
President Bush and the present Republican control of the country. You would think they are
Americans. Apparently their own politics is not that interesting to them and so they post to this
group crying and whining about US politics. They are beneath contempt. But you will feel right at
home here if you like to be on the receiving end of vicious Anti-American propaganda - and that is
all it is. They are all know-nothings and are not competent to comment on American politics.

No, Harv! But I like your identification with those other two supreme idiots, Ian and Guy. Put all
of you together and we have the Three Stooges. You should maybe think about moving to merry old
England and joining the Anti-American club over there. Ian could explain to you how things "really"
are in the Middle East (his paternal homeland) and Guy could get you indoctrinated in Labour
socialism. You could become more English than the English!
The only incredible nonsense being spouted here is all this liberal [censored]. When they run out of their
usual [censored] then they post Bush jokes thinking how superior they are to be in an "in group". Note
that I never make jokes about anything. It is the recourse of cads and scoundrels pure and simple.
Harv is an expert at this and has lots of other jerks for company here. But what can you expect of
anyone who thinks Monty Python is funny. Harv should get himself to a newsgroup where he can indulge
his sense of humor more fully. ARBR is not for clowns like him.

I just know I will regret replying to what you wrote.
The chap I was crucifying on the Moderated Newsgroup was going on and on about how evil and corrupt
America was and how all the politicians are idiots and how the average American citizen had the I.Q.
of dirt etc. Then he goes on and on about how f**king enlightened the EU countries are and you just
wanna take a Glock and go hunting this Euro moron.
My only reply was that without America for the world to criticize every waking hour, countries would
turn in on their own governments and realize just how much they are being royally screwed. Anarchy
would take over and the EU would implode. Most of the people in the mideast are taught every stupid
thing wrong in their lives in the result of Yankee Imperialism and so like sheep they do not
question their governments, but focus all their hatred on America. America does not have more
problems per square foot than anywhere else on the planet...we just have 350 million people who know
the problems are there and choose to ignore them and get on with their lives and THAT really pisses
everyone off beyond our borders.
P.S. I am no longer an American citizen, so I am free to say whatever the hell I want...which
constitutionally I could do while I still lived in America...just didn't see the point to it.
Mr.Dolan...give some consideration to shifting part of your day to another Newsgroup for a while
re:.....mmmmm Fresh Brains. Not suggesting you exit ARBR entirely, hell you do that and all those
people who claim to have you "Kill Filed" won't have anyone to yell at anymore.
Is it just me or does anyone notice that every person who claims to have
Ms.Dolan in the Kill File...are the same people who reply to what he says. I'd think their "Kill
File" is broken.

Why are you such a wimp? If you are ignoring the OT threads I do not understand what the problem is.
This thread of course should be OT too. I am treating it as an OT thread, otherwise I would not be
posting my opinions here.
The only "raving lunatics" on ARBR are all the liberal posters. I do not see why you can't take one
lonely voice crying in the wilderness for some sanity and common sense. Are you going to kill file
the notorious Tom Sherman? Of course not because you agree with his asininities. It's all about
whose ox is being gored isn't it?
One other note that might be of interest to those following this thread. I have never initiated an
OT thread. Like Mr. Sherman I merely respond to what some else has started. Unlike Mr. Sherman, I do
not always have to have the last word. But nothing will satisfy this newsgroup except complete
capitulation. This is not a newsgroup but a cabal of conspirators for liberal screwball ideology.
Well, not anymore as long as I am here.

I have missed your ramblings about my illogical thinking and other failures these past several
months. But your last sentence deserves comment. ARBR can be a terrible bore at times. Often there
is nothing of interest to read due to lack of posting. And so I am here with my OT ranting and
raving to entertain all of you. I should be charging admission but I am a generous soul and so I
offer it all for free. All this whining about about being OT is absurd. It is a freebie that you get
for entering ARBR and should be looked upon as an asset to the newsgroup. I always like to see what
is on OT after I have reviewed the recumbent threads. Everyone should go and do likewise. After all
it only takes a few minutes.
