  5. While I enjoy both A Perfect Circle's and Tool's music, I can't listen to them while riding. Too many odd time changes, quiet 'sound-effects-y' periods in the songs, etc.

Mudvayne, Slipknot, M. Manson, and Disturbed are regulars on my playlists. Of course Rush is my all-time favorite band, so there's always lots by them.

  7. My selection is somehow limited these days.

    Genesis
    Judas Priest (following Frenchyge recommendation)
    AC/DC
    Metallica

Oh yes. I almost forgot Motor Head, which I am trying to learn to appreciate. But I find it a bit raw and gross.

I made a discovery. For workouts 90min and more, I need to spend time listening to something smooth (I like Jazz music) during at least half of the duration, followed by hard rock. Or else, I get tired of electric guitar and drums, and sometimes quit before the end of the workout.

  9. Aha! This is one area I can say I'm expert in:

    Nevermore - this Godless Endeavor
    Sigh - Gallow's Gallery
Akercocke - Words that go Unspoken / Deeds that Go Undone
    Vital Remains - Dechristianize
Testament - First Strike Still Deadly
    Overkill - Horrorscope
    Annihilator - Alice in Hell
Emperor - Prometheus: the Discipline of Fire and Demise
Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness
    Melechesh - Sphynx
    Enslaved - Below the Lights
Amon Amarth - Versus the World

...and lots more gold down that Metal Mine of Madness....

  17. Not big into this type of music, but I like Rob Zombie, Bush, Alice in Chains.

I can't listen to this while riding though, it seems to make the time go by slower! Which isn't good when on the trainer.
