Kalloy stem adjustment?

  1. Would appreciate tip on how tilt and height adjustment is made on a Kalloy AL-806 adjustable tilt
    quill stem. I see the Allen head on top and was wondering if that's all there is or whether a side
    plate also needs to be pried off over the pivot axis. (pictured at
    kalloyuno.combike adjustable angle 02.htm )

    That is the shaft bolt used for ajusting the height of the whole thing. It works like any other
    quill stem. Please ask for more advice if having any difficulty with it.

    No, if it's the same as the Kalloy I've used (looks just like it), there will be another bolt on the
    underside of the stem - at the middle. Loosen bolt, adjust tilt, tighten.

    As an aside, the top bolt can be obscured if the stem is tilted up enough at an extreme angle. In
    that case, you'd need to tilt down, alter height then tilt up again. I'd be intersted if anyone
    reckons that is a dangerous position because I know someone who is using one like that.
