And once again I totally agree with you, TC. My wife and I had a baby
this past year. Somehow the part of the bill we owe is considerably
higher than the maximum out-of-pocket amount of our policy. Of course
now the idea is to tie it up in snail mail with forms and red tape long
enough for us to forget what we actually received, so we'll end up
paying for it anyway.
Of course, there's no way for us to know which of the items on the bill
are legit and which aren't, but that's the hospital's fault, not the
insurance company's.
I'm a libertarian by nature. I think the government has one main
purpose... to protect its citizens. Somehow, though, I think that
regulating the medical industry and outlawing refined food fits in to
the whole "protecting the population" ideal. Think of how our economy
would prosper if degenerative diseases went away and the money tied up
in "curing" them could be put to other uses.
Like my Dad always told me; "Son, if you're going to dream, dream BIG!"

Just when you are down and suffer a setback, and you need the insurance
benefits from the policy that you payed the premiums on, they kick you
