  1. Hi,

I'm a contributing editor of Inside Triathlon magazine, and I'm working
on a piece that looks at the psychological/lifestyle basis for
overtraining, as well as the immediate and long-term
psychological/lifestyle effects of significantly reduced or complete
ceasation of training/racing. Basically, did an initially healthy
participation in endurance sports become unhealthy and corrosive in
your life and what happened when you addressed this? If you or any
other triathlete/endurance athlete you know has experience with any of
this and would be interested in being interviewed/written about (names
changed on request) please drop me an email at [email hidden].

    All the best,
    Scott Schumaker

    Dear Scott

I was able to lick the overtraining thing by runnning with my dog Melina.
She is never in a real hurry once the first 100 yards are done.

I enter triathlons and adventure races because they are fun to be in. I gave
up my dreams of hockey greatness, golf greatness and most recently a dream
of a career as a 51 year old professional triathlete, and have to settle for
    just having a good time.
