  1. In mid-January I placed an order with redfrogracing for some tyres,
inner tubes and winter tights. I was promised delivery within 3 days as
everything was in stock, or so they claimed.

I waited a week and rang back. They assured me that it had been sent,
but 'Royal Mail aren't what they used to be give it a couple more
    days'.

I waited a further 10 days. This time they admitted that they hadn't
got the tyres in stock but they were just about to come in and so they
    would send them very soon.

I rang back 4 days later. They had been sent but 'Royal Mail...'.

I waited a further 2 weeks. They were terribly sorry but the tights
hadn't been in stock, so they would send bib tights instead which
cost £10 more and they would send today.

I waited a further 3 days, you guessed 'Royal Mail'.

Then another 4 days later the parcel arrived but with normal tights not
    bib ones.

Two weeks later I got my bank statement and they had charged me an
extra £47.89. Luckily I spotted this and they refunded the money.

The employees happily lied to me and on a number of occasions they were
rude to me, even though I was nothing but polite (if distrustful of
their promises). Stay well clear of these people.

    Hmm............

I bought a bottle cage off them, there was a delay in delivery but apart
    from that seemed OK,good price.

Will bear your comments in mind in future.

My experience with Xpedia has been nothing but good. I shall not be
    steering clear of them.

Sounds awful. I ordered some tyres from them and they were cheap and quick.

Likewise. I've bought a couple of sets of pedals from them and they
turned up on time and in budget.

The System is well pleased with this Unit's performance, which falls
    within expected parameters.

Are they another lot like Ribble (used to be?) where they are good
if it's in stock, [censored] if it's not. Omega is another current example.

This Unit is a productive Unit.

True - Ribble seem to have cleared up their act of late (presumably due
to the tide of negative feedback), especially since they brought in
online shopping. Bought an ITM Ahead stem for the 'cross bike from them
a year and a bit ago off the website - turned up quickly and at an
agreeable price. Have used Xpedia in the past and no grumbles at all,
even when I've had to return stuff (which was due to a design fault in
    the product [1]).

[1] Stronglight sealed Ti BB unit, the only Stronglight product that's
ever let me down - seems to be a flaw in the design meaning that the
bearings only last 18 months at best due to uneven wear (poss. axle
flex, especially in the longer models for MTBs??).

I've placed several orders with them through EBay and had no trouble at
all - I'd certainly use them again. I've never needed to chase them up
though so maybe, like a lot of web businesses, they don't really do
    telephone support.

Xpedia are nothing like as bad as Ribble, to say the least. The worst
problems I had with Ribble were after receiving incorrect or duplicate
items. Ribble have NOT cleaned up their act from recent reports I've
read, which reveal their basic attitude has not changed since my
experiences. Making mistakes is one thing. Extreme unwillingness to put
    them right is another.

I used Xpedia recently. There was a bit of a delay with the order. When
I chased them up I received the goods next day along with a pair of free
gloves. So I don't have a complaint myself (although Andrew's experience
is worrying and may influence my future choices). I've also had no
problems with them as Redfrogracing -- some very good deals. Of course
the Bay feedback system helps encourage traders do a proper job there.

I agree with Pete, they're still terrible. I've given up on Ribble after
spending an awful lot of money with them over the last couple of years.
They're great when things go OK but they lie, prevaricate and generally
don't give a toss if something goes wrong. I now tend to use Parker
International whose prices are very similar but give better service. I've
used Redfrog once without any problems.

  12. I've bought a chain off redfrogracing on ebay and had no problems. On the
flipside of the coin I tried to buy a pump on sale from the xpedia site and
they billed me for the full price and never sent it, then claimed they had,
then faffed about saying that the guy that deals with accounts was on hols.
In the end I set my creditcard company on them and got a refund.

I must've caught them on a good day! I use them pretty infrequently,
though - Xpedia, Deeside, Settle, wiggle and Parkers are probably the
mail order firms I make most use of, and all have been very good so
    far.
