Went back to the LBS, he has cleaned out the bottom bracket, re-sealed
it and placed the arm back on, with a new little screw in cap thing (I
have no idea what it is called). He did say he shouldhave checked it,
but also added if there is any more trouble with it he'll replace no
questions asked. And he threw in a bell to seal it.
So now we've had three rides, 32km, 30km and 19km, and bum is feeling a
little better. We are still driving to the freeway bike path rather than
riding on roads, because it still takes about 3 pedal revolutions before
I can clip in properly, and I'd rather not be crossing a road while trying.
Given we are getting home around 5:40pm from work, would small 30-40min
rides during the week be worthwhile, or just get an hour in on an early
day, and then two larger rides on weekends?
Finally, the chain rubs on the front derailuer, is this normal? It's not
across the whole cassette, just the few cogs on each end.
Cheers
