Hi Judith,

Ajax is playing against NAC Breda this sunday at 14.30 hrs in the Arena
(Ajax' home stadium).
The're a lot of amateur football clubs in Amsterdam (Ajax is Premier League
and Amsterdam hasn't got a first division club anymore). In the highest
amateur division AFC is playing away and Blauw-Wit A'dam (ranked 11th) is
playing at home on sunday at 14.30 against FC Omniworld (ranked 3rd, a club
that would like to go pro). The address is (opposite) Sloterweg 1054
(Sportpark Sloten), 11km SW of A'dam citycentre. I don't know how to get
there by public transport.

What do you mean with MR ?
Blauw-Wit was superior in the first half and was leading 1-0 at half-time.
In the second half B-W was overrun by Omniworld who scored 3 goals. Fulltime
score 1-3 and B-W is close to relegation.
For a CTR (City Trip Report) you have to ask Judith.(at least the weather
was much better than forcast)

As Theo said, FC Blauw-Wit Amsterdam were at home to FC Omniworld. We
had a rough idea where the ground was so we caught a tram in the
direction of Niuew Sloten then asked in a pub. Usually I would follow
the crowds when going to an "away" game so I was a little worried that
we had the wrong day as there was nobody who seemed to be going to the
match.

It cost 4 Euros to get in. I didn't bother with a program (as my
Dutch is rather limited) but I did manage to buy a speldje to add to
my collection. I'm not sure what the attendance was but it was the
equivalent of a good Conference North crowd - and the ground
facilities were similar.

The football was OK; no worse than I've seen at Prenton Park on
occasion! BW took the lead and had a few more good chances but they
seemed to tire sooner than Omniworld and they ended up losing 1-3.
I've seen it happen many times before; as soon as Omniworld scored
once I knew they'd score again.

At half time I had chips (and mayo, of course) and a glass of Amstel.
Very civilised; we could even have taken the glasses outside if we'd
wanted but, being English football fans and used to not being trusted
with anything sharper than flimsy plastic "glasses", we drank up
inside before going out for the 2nd half.

It was a pleasant afternoon, sat in the sunshine on the wooden bench
seats along the side of the pitch and watching decent football without
any worry about who won!
