  1. Earlier this week, I made beans & greens (with escarole). It turned out OK,
but without fresh herbs...a little blah. I have some left over. I thought of
pureeing it and turning it into something else. Something says "seafood",
but I can't imagine what would blend well with that bean-ish green-ish
flavor. Maybe forget seafood and throw in ham.....help!

I regularly make soups with beans and green - for example, navy beans and
kale - and find that smoked meat and/or sausage go very well.

Hmm, well, ham, bacon or sausage would be most obvious but seafood
would not be inpossible. I'm thinking maybe, slivers of smoked salmon?

I'm thinking sherry and some sliced toasted almonds.

Hmmm....I don't know. The soup's already got lots of round taste. It needs
    something edgy.

Fry it up with eggs and cheese after straining off the liquid...

That sounds disgusting. Go to your room right this minute. 🙂

How about chorizo. Goes good with greens as in Portuguese soup. Tiny bit of
brandy would also make it 'edgy"

Hey...I have chorizo in the freezer. This could also make my son forget that
he's eating the same dish as earlier in the week, which he wasn't too
    thrilled about to begin with.

Ham. Or spicy sausage, well browned.

Duck might be good too. We get duck legs fairly cheap here; you could
braise them, shred the meat and put that in.

I do think something smoked would be nice.

I'm thinking Mish Mosh at the local deli. A corned beef sammich and a bowl
of Mish Mosh was $16.25 and we're talking lunch. He was slammed, I didn't
    argue.

Sorry, I was [censored] at my unusually expensive lunch. I think I got

Chorizo would be very good IMO. Or, maybe some really spicy Italian
    sausage? On the HOT side...
