Anyone can join and my commitment is not to ban anyone except blatant trolls. I just don't know if Usenet offers a real method to deal with truly disturbed people with a LOT of time on their hands.

I can tell ya, it IS pretty satisfying to have a "ban" option to use.

To me it's a little like reading a magazine or watching a TV show that is filled with lots of ads. I've become inured to it and just don't look. In fact, I mute the commercials at home, and online I just glance right past them without reading. TBR is easy to detect on so many levels that there really isn't any effort required to ignore him if you practice.

With no interest expressed I'm going to delete it.
I think all that is left here are the trolls. Sad.

Oh well, have fun!
How many times have you publicly announced that you were leaving the newsgroup, Mike? I'm starting to lose count.

It's got to prove something, Joe. The trolls give these people a cause to rally around. Without trolls it would be like Bush without terrorists. There would be nothing to whine about. These people can't really envisage a life without trolls.

I don't know about Mike but that was my first time to try something like that. In any case, it wasn't a farewell.
