    Many pro (and ex-pro) riders lurk on RBR but never post because...

    (A) Their contracts forbid posting to the internet;
    (B) They think RBR stands for Really Boring [censored] and they don't want an
    archived record of being associated with it;
    (C) They can't write a coherent sentence and are afraid to look stupid next
    to some retro-grouch Team Internet dork who posts all day long;
    (D) Some combination of the above.

    Dumbass -

    "D" with an emphasis on "C".

    thanks,

    K. Gringioni.

  2. I think it's most likely "E: None of the above, they don't lurk here
    at all."

    Lance?

    Lance's mother used to lurk here in the 90's. She once sent me a very
    nice email after I said something good about him here. That was back in
    that innocent time when it wouldn't have occurred to anyone to spoof
    her email address. Maybe I should track that down and sell it on eBay.

    KK posted here back in the day, too.

  7. F) they think the topics are typical boring and repetitive topics that
    all "non-"cyclists love to gibber on about.

    G) they think y'all don't know nothin' 'bout cycling but how to show
    off on your local coffee shop ride.

    Retro-grouch Team Internet. Belongs on
    <http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/index.htm>

    This flame warrior only pretends to care, but never
    forgets. If you said something thoughtless in 1998 it will
    be dredged up. Apparently limitless supply of time and
    vitriol. Hot topics? We gottum. Radiation is actually good
    for you. Resembles Godzilla in his imperviousness to
    rational discourse. If it was coined after 1980 it sucks.

    J. Frank Parnell: Radiation, yes indeed! You hear the most outrageous lies about
    it. Half-baked goggle-boxed do-gooders telling everybody it¹s bad for you.
    Pernicious nonsense! Everybody could stand a hundred chest X-rays a year. They
    ought to have 'em too.

    Then there's the disturbing possibility that they are
    all posting on RBR under pseudonyms, and we're
    the best they can come up with.

    I think they're all over on eriksaunders.com though.

    J. Frank Parnell: Ever been to Utah? Ra-di-a-tion. Yes,
    indeed. You hear the most outrageous lies about it.

    When they canceled the project it almost did me in. One
    day my mind was full to bursting. The next day - nothing.
    Swept away. But I'll show them. I had a lobotomy in the
    end.

    Otto: Lobotomy? Isn't that for loonies?

    Parnell: Not at all. Friend of mine had one. Designer of
    the neutron bomb. You ever hear of the neutron bomb?
    Destroys people -- leaves buildings standing. Fits in a
    suitcase. It's so small, no one knows it's there until --
    BLAMMO. Eyes melt, skin explodes, everybody dead. So
    immoral, working on the thing can drive you mad. That's
    what happened to this friend of mine. So he had a
    lobotomy. Now he's well again.

    Been watching "Big Love" and keep expecting Harry to turn to the camera and
    spout off these lines again!!
