Any RST old-timers still hanging around?

I go back about 15 years. Ruth is probably lurking here someplace and she
goes back , WAY BACK BEFORE ME.

This question came up a short while ago and there are quite a few "Old
Timers" mostly lurking around. I suppose the fact that topics often repeat
means that you go over the same ground again and again so people stop
posting so much?

Well, I'm (only!) 46, but started Tris in the 80's. Haven't done any for a
year or 2, mainly cos I'm waaay too fat to get into my wetsuit, and I
don't think the beam on my Softride would take the weight!

Good to know you are lurking in the background. I just returned to Kauai
after a 6 months stay at lake Seminole, Georgia. Starting to get a little
training back into my life. Thinking about doing IMH again next year.

What ya been up to?

Ah, IMH again! If only....
I'm down to sprints and grateful to the tri gods that I can
do that. I'll be at the Philly tri for women July 9 and in
August I'll do one in Columbia. I go with friends and have
a ball. The social aspect which has always been important
is now everything to me. Although I'm a swimmer and a
sprinter at that, the party atmosphere of triathlons won me
over early. Nowhere is that more so than at Kona where it's
a week long blast.

I visit Athens, Georgia once per year. Nice, but not
Hawaii. You must be glad to be back.

Great on the activities. I figured you would be active. I have not raced
since IMNZ last year so not doing my share. Hope to change that.

Actually, I loved my time in Georgia. I like the country atmosphere. Judy
and I recently bought a small home there on Lake Seminole. I have a bass
boat and did a little fishing including a couple tournaments. Can you
believe that?

It is not Hawaii but had fun. My son lives 3 hours from there so we got
together with his family . We were able to spend time with grandsons
fishing. Judy really likes that part.

I am just now trying to figure out which qualifying event to do for 2007
IMH. Perhaps I will sign up for IMNZ and Hono. With luck I will make the
list in one or the other. The trip to NZ is just a very long one. I do not
adapt well to the cooler condition but struggled through the last one. Have
friends there so I do like the social end of it.

Hello Tom, Rich is doing fine. spends much spare time bass fishing
rather than running. He still has the knee problems that prevent much
running.

Given how long ago this thread was started, it's clear I'm not hanging
around too often. I actually haven't done a multisport race since a
few days after my 40th birthday (a swim-run in Baltimore) while in
the middle of marathon training. Now, I'm back in the SF Bay
area, trying to squeeze in enough training around work/family
(mostly commuting and lunchtime) to keep me sane.

Well hello fellow "old timers" - Schwingding here.

VERY occasional lurker. Back to racing this year I am. Signed up for
IMUSA but had to back out - my old nemesis left foot neuroma won't let
me run over 2 hours. So far this season I've done 1 half, and 2
sprints. Won one of the sprints, didn't win the other. Lots of short
races on the calendar.

I'm a daily slowtwitch.com visitor these days, but I browse this group
every once in a while.
