My friend owns the 5. I thought it wasn't stable and I ended up purchasing the 4. I prefer the 4.
It's more stable and just as portable.

The PRS-5 is great, I've had one for about 4 years. Here's a shot of it being abused by some

Ultimate Pro stand, which loads the bike *so* much faster and easier, and is just as stable, and

I splurged on a Park about ten years ago, and never regretted spending the money. I love being able
to rotate the bike to any convenient position when working on it or even just for cleaning.

I have had mine for about 3 years now, I love it, it was pricey initially but well worth it and if
you are in the process of building up a bike, you will totally love it.

I don't feel that it is unstable at all. I haven't tried the other model but for the ability to have
it compact into a small bag I think it is well worth the premium and if it is unstable it is worth
that too. I have wrenched on my my bottom bracket of my 45 lb freeride rig with this thing and it
sits there and takes the punishment.

Great stand and it will be with you for years to come.

Unfortunately, I must agree with this.... I bought the 5... and find it unstable. The 4 is more
stable, IMO. The clamp on the 5 is very nice -- which I think is shared with the 4...

The guy that recommended it. is a bike mechanic for a living, and he asked me one question. "Are you
planning on taking it with you"? I said yes. He said get the 5. Hell, it comes with a bag to carry

Based on having used both, it seemed to me the PRS-5 is a bit more flexy due to the use of the
composite fittings used to make it lighter and fold down. The PCS-4 uses steel in these areas with Y
fitting that's welded to the upright tube and bolted to the legs. Also the leg brackets firmly bolt
together to clamp the upper and lower leg tubing solidly together. I would have liked the PRS-5
because it folds down into a shorter package but I chose the PCS-4 when Park started using the
telescoping upright tube and quick release which allows the clamp to be raised to a maximum of 72"
versus 60" on the PRS-5. This is very nice for those of us who are taller. I'm amazed at how stable
this stand is when I have my larger-than-normal bikes clamped into it by the seatpost.

The 4's bottom feet extend beyond the legs in the rear and are connected to the legs via metal
clamps. The 5's feet are connected to the legs via the nylon folding clamps. From my observations, I
would say the 5's feet are not as long nor extend past the legs as much as the 4's do. As you may
have noticed, the nylon parts of these stands flex some. Hence, the 5 is not as stable.
