You could get a Leader Frame weighing in at 3.8lbs. Its made of T6 Alloy, 6061 double heat treated

This isn't such a good idea. Yes, it's possible, but you'll take chances because of the different
shapes of different frames. Say your next frame has a 50mm longer tt, you'll be wanting a shorter
stem. What if the head tube is longer, and the steerer on your forks isn't long enough for your new
frame? Then there are different sizes of BB, outside diameter of seat tube for the front mech,
inside diameter of the seat tube for the seat post, etc.

You can upgrade certain parts, just make sure you don't blow money on something that might not fit
your new frame - especially if you don't know what your new frame is going to be.

Finally, why XTR? Why not just go XT? The price / performance ratio is much better.

That's both expensive and stupid, especially if you are replacing parts that are not broken. Save
that money and buy the new bike that you want.

T6 is not the alloy, but the temper designator. And please explain what "double heat treating" is?
