  1. are connecting pins still required to install the HG73? the LBSs here say no, we never use them... just use the pin that comes stuck in the end plate of the chain from the factory...

    i have a KMC connecting link, the LBS says you cant re-use the KMC links, is this true?

    the LBSs don't stock the connecting pins for shimano either, should i consider recycling the KMC link and using on this HG73???

  2. Use the special Shimano pins that come with the HG73, they have a guide that you snap off once in place. Alternatively you could use a quick disconnect link (SRAM, Connex, etc.)
