(Personally, I use red steel Schwinn 1998 Le Tours, which are
available now and then on eBay for around $200 in sizes from 52cm to
58cm. The shorter ones hang from the rafters and serve as organ
donors. I just switched about two weeks ago to a new one with a larger
frame and didn't bother to change the seats.)

Interesting you should mention the Waterford -14 series. I fit almost
exactly the same size as the OP, & that is the top bike I'm
considering. Not because I think that Waterford has any lock on my size
as a custom bike, in particular. I just like their design & price in
general.

Ah, Peter, you were looking at the complete bike price; the frame alone
is ca. US$400, way less than a Waterford. But you're right about the
missing geometry charts; enquiring minds need to know...

builders around who will make up a 3 1/2 pound steel frame in your size
under $1000. An alternative might be to find a nice light mountain
frame, like an early Bontrager, and have the headtube cut loose and
rebrazed to the angle you want.
