Was heading into work after a fun ride around the river with three
friends. Around 8:00am I was on Hay St in West Perth (turned left
into Hay St from Colin). Stuck in the middle of the right hand lane
due to cars parked on the right hand side of this one way street.
Blinking white light at the front, still on even though the sun was
well up.
Black Conformadore looking car in the parallel parking starts to pull
left into my lane. Slow down, but then car stops. Must have seen me.
Nope! Pulls into my lane, emergency stop and I still hit the back
bumper at around 5km/h. Hit lower forehead on boot lid (I think) and
fall left into traffic. Luckily work colleague happened to be on the
scene and helped me up. Inspect damage, sore leg just below knee, but no
bark lost. Conformadore driver comes up, "Are you okay?". "Yes I am, but
you should be careful you don't kill someone." "I thought you were
pulling in to park." "No, I was in the middle of the road, you need to
watch before you pull out." "Well maybe you should watch where you're
going" she says. WTF! She walks off.
I'm so [censored]. I have a sore head, sore leg (big bruise) but I'm so
much more [censored] by her attitude. She was so completely in the
wrong, it could have been so much worse if I hadn't stopped quickly.
And what's worse, my bike computer must have popped off when I fell, and
I haven't been able to find it. Nothing special Cateye, but I've had it
for so many years. I think I was in shock, so I didn't get her details
because I'm not really hurt. Wish I had now. 🙁
