Thanks for everyone's input on this. I've attached my file below from today's TT. Official time for 40K was 56:09, a 1:30 improvement over last year's effort. P-ave for the duration was 290w, a 10w improvement. There was a slight headwind on the out leg and a tailwind coming back home. Power out is slightly higher, but not because I was riding strategically (rather, just going too hard and relying on dumb luck). Had a bit of a hickup halfway through the return leg, as power started to fall of markedly.
Well done. Good ride. It would be great to see the road gradient overlay on your chart. I'm guessing the little peaks were when there was a slight upgrade. I think your splits (higher AP on the outbound leg) are representative of about 95% of all TT rides, regardless of wind direction. But, I think if you weren't riding with a PM, it would have been even more skewed.
