Well bad news for me AE Bike sent me an email that they canceled the order because they are out of stock supposedly, I heard that the Tacx just had a price increase and I'm going to guess they didn't want to honor the price on the web. Any deals on the Computrainer on the web. I just bought my new bike and not sure I'd be able to spring another 1k or more right now.

I worry about them and their ability to continue to build and enhance the product. Maybe the fact that they're out of inventory is a good sign, robust sales.

It'll probably be hard to find a CompuTrainer for much less than the dealer rate. Sad to say, it's not a really big market and those of us who have them tend to want to hold onto them.

FWIW they're worth it. These things really work well.

I ordered the Tacx back on the 1st of Oct. and Friday I talked with the person at Gearlink.com and they finally owned up to it not being shipped to me, supposedly it was shipped from their "MAIN" warehouse to their Florida address and came in broken. I called them about 6 times wanting a tracking number and they couldn't come up with one. Now they said it would be an additional 2 weeks before it would ship again, so I canceled it today. I decided to cancel it while at the Worlds up in Hamilton this weekend and talking with the Computrainer rep and decided to order one, it's supposed to be here at the end of the week.

The only thing that he added about the software is the new topo 3d software which I ordered having the ability to download your own routes from GPS. The coolest thing he brought up is the lab that they have could work with you on deisgning a training regimine with you through mail and the intenet. I could order a test kit they would send via FEDEX and I would take blood samples after predetermined intervals on the trainer and FEDEX them back and then they could set me up for a better training program than just hammering away as I do now. I think they can even monitor your progress by email. As far as computers go I'm building a new just for this and planning on using my 31" tv for it while on the trainer and hook it to my home network too.
