I plan on doing a few stage races this year. Any suggestions on temperarily converting my typical road bike into a TT bike just for the TT days?

get some clip (bolt) on aerobars. that's really all you need.
but I would also buy a thomson "setback" seatpost and another saddle. turn the seatpost so the offset places you more forward, and dial in the saddle. mark seatpost height with tape for both your existing seatpost and your new tt rig. that way you can just change seatposts, with saddle in correct position, and bolt on your aerobars to be ready to go. it saves a lot of time, and in between stages you need to rest, not fuss with saddle positioning.
