I hope he does ride the TdF, and I hope he's learnt his lesson from last time round.

I reckon he could take one of the long TTs, though he will have stiff competition in Ullrich, Zabrsikie, Landis. Would be good to see him back on his best form.

If I recall right, when he signed with Saunier Duval, it is in his contract that he is on the TDF team. He is not reinstated until the 27th I believe, 4 days before the TDF

I'm not sure he's learned his lesson, riding for Saunier Duval.

Give the guy a break. Millar admitted to doping without having ever failed a test. I haven't heard of too many riders doing that. From Gianetti (manager of SD) "I saw a guy who made an error, which he paid a very high price for. He shouldn't have to pay for the rest of his life."

Don't have it against Millar, but I doubt he'd come back just to ride in the grupetto. He rides for SD, so call it guilt by association, when you look at Piepoli a nobody until this year, Koldo Gil, rode for Liberty last year, things just add up.

Piepoli a nobody? He has won the baby giro (Giro d'Italia for juniors), in his first year as a pro the mountains jersey of the TdS (7th overall), he was 17th in the overall in his first TdF (i believe it was 1996), was 8th in the overall of the 1999 Vuelta and he has won the overall of several smaller tours like Burgos, Aragon (3 times winner), Galicia, castilla y Leon. No he wasn't a nobody untill this year.

Millar signed with SD many months ago and the plan has always been for him to return to racing at the TDF prologue and try to win it clean. He will be on the team and he will ride to win the prologue. Whether he wins or now will be quite interesting.

I have always loved Millar. His interviews are hilarious and he is a great rider. Yes, he cheated, but unlike everyone else, he came clean and started to do the right thing... talking to kids about the dangers, admitting what he did was wrong, coming back to prove a clean guy can win... or at least give it a shot.

I am totally sold by his act, I wish more of the dopers would admit it and come back. He is totally forgiven by me assuming he doesn't do it again. It seems like an interesting risk for SD because if... 1. he really does intend to stay clean and help clean up the sport, and, 2. SD is really dirty as suspected after the saiz scandal. they should be worried about having a potential whistleblower on the team in the inner workings. Like an addict in early recovery hanging out with a bunch of users... that's a strange mix. Not sure any of that is true but it speaks well for SD in my mind since in David I trust.

British head to head in the prologue looks good, Miller versus Wiggins!. Wonder how having the tour as your first race of the season will affect him tho.

I am not sure about that, he did win his races in the past and well it's a Miller thread. If we want to go on we should create a new thread.....
