Aspen Mike wasn't able to do the Iron Horse this year so Tom was the only unicyclist to compleate the race this year, and the second ever. I had heard that you had completed the race. At start time there were two other unicycles entered as the train departed. I had my KH29 and Stormy was there on a Coker. When I heard there was a finisher, I figured someone had started early (a good idea with less traffic in town as well as on the passes).
My goal was Hermosa but I continued until the mineral springs about a mile past Honeyville. Stormy and I rode most of the way together. He kept going as I met my ride home at the bottom of Shalona Hill.
Congratulations to Tom! A great accomplishment. I'm curious what crank length you used on your Coker for the race and would you choose the same again?
Again, I predict that one day a unicyclist will beat the train--not sure how, but I expect some technological improvement that will allow it to be done.
