  1. Hello there, I am a new cycler and I ave no idea what bike to buy, I think for now I will just be on the road, no off road and I don't want to spend any more than $500. Any suggestions?

  2. go to a bike shop and see what they have. only way to tell what you like is to get on them a ride them. what works for me might not work for you

yea i definetly agree, what you might also want to try to do is go to your LBS (local bike shop) and try out a few bikes, and if you find one you like, then go look on ebay for a used/older model of it. Even though it is older and used it will probably not be much different rather than a few bumps and bruises here and there.

  4. Given your price range, you're going to be relegated to buying used (nothing wrong with that, I think there's actually more value in a used bike anyways). Entry-level road bikes start at around $700. Go test ride some road bikes to make sure you like the feel of them, and then start checking craigslist or ebay for a good deal on a used road bike.

  5. Thanks everyone!
