Wow, that is really great, Jobst! I can't say that Nick was a big
friend of mine or anything. He was just an acquaintance with whom I
rode a couple of times. He probably wouldn't remember me. I was
basically a tourist, while he was a racer. I will say that he emitted
a lot of really odiferous flatulence when you would ride with him in a
group. Everyone said it was due to the spicy food he liked to eat.
Of course he was a Berkeley legend as the "Bike Barb". Thanks for the
info. I wish him well.

Man, I remember back in about 1976 the nationals were held in
Louisville. The Bike Barb beat the snot out of another rider who
caused him to crash.

Wasn't he the guy that cost his team their sponsorship by mooning some
people from the team sponsor's van?
