Polar cadence sensor on Soloist frame? Anyone?

Maybe you can try to install it on the chainstay or the seat tube. It might end up to far from the main unit though. I will ask around and post any solutions i get.

I had it along the chainstay, but it wouldn't read. I am in the process of changing the battery, need a small screwdriver and will then try again. I love the 720, but the range is a bit weak. I will take any other suggestions you come up with!

I had mine on the downtube and it worked fine. It was by the letter "O." Took it out as now I have the powermeter on it.

I spoke to my local Polar rep and he suggests you install it on the downtube with the sensor angled downward. Because of the shape of the downtube you will need extra long cable ties. I hope this helps. You can also try posting your question on the Polar website and see what they say.

Awesome guys! Thanks a ton. I'll give it a try one I get the sensor apart so I can put a new battery in. One of the screws is giving me a hard time.:eek:

There's a big variety in transmitter power with Polar sensors - some will work fine on the chainstay (my training bike is set up that way) and some need to be closer (my race bike's one is on the down tube). I reckon the chainstay one is the best solution if the unit will read it that far away – It's also worth experimenting with different angles for the magnet, as polarity makes a difference to how well the sensr 'reads' the magnet. At least with your unit you can change the battery if the signal's weak - with my CS200 you have to buy a new sensor...

Mine is real sensitive. Currently I have my clip on TT bar adaptors on the bike so my watch is in a slightly different position and I've noticed my speed kicking on and off a little more. Annoying! I did try the chainstay, but it didn't work so I'm working on changing the battery...😎

Mine is on the seat tube, but then the Giant bottom bracket area is not as massive as the soloist. or you could try increasing the transmitting range of the cadence sensor by changing some jumpers, this will only work on the S-Series cadence sensor
