The US has knocked out the king of saudi arabia?
Team disco has "conquered" the TdF?
If you were referring to Landis...he is the employee of a Swiss team.Team efforts win the race...yes? And he hasn't won...yet.And if he does...it won't be because he's an american. It will be because he's a great rider and despite LA's previous spoiling tactics. Why is Landis not riding for the only "american" team in the race?
The US winning the World Cup? Laugh 'til my head explodes!
😄 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄 Not in my lifetime!

haha, after the U.S. team's major CHOKE, they won't be going anywhere for a long time. Especially since they had all these companies/sponsors hyping them up (I mean, they took "Take me out to the ball game" and made it for soccer), only to have the biggest flop.

Still laughing.

BooHoo BooHoo! "And he hasn't won...yet".... Did too 😄
At the podium, please tell me, what national hymn was played?? What flag was raised?? True it is a team effort. But who won that stage at the Alps, going ...solo:eek: ?

Laugh at soccer now but just wait.

7. From what I know of Floyd Landis, I would doubt he's what you think most Americans are, ie: slavish knuckle-dragger's that support BushCo.

He didn't say the US...he said "merkkens" Meaning that both Lance and Floyd have produced a combined streak of 8 consecutive TDF wins...and yes they just happen to be americans.

Second, there are non-Americans on team Disco no? Lance, as the team leader got the headlines...no?

Stage 17...how many non-americans rode to the finish line with floyd??? How many non-Americans did HE DROP without the help of his SWISS team?

Third..the world cup may take a few years.. but it will come....

What do you know of Floyd Landis that makes you think this?

10. The simple fact that he comes from a Mennonite family,

Men·non·ite ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mn-nt)
n. A member of an Anabaptist church characterized particularly by simplicity of life, pacifism, and nonresistance.

...and that he also seems to be more intelligent than to support BushCo.

Of course I could be wrong - FL's politics could be anywhere on the spectrum, but usually an apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Hey thanks for all that fancy stuff in your post...looks real professional... But, I was hoping that you knew him personally... I mean, he really isn't a true mennonite...didn't he rebel against those beliefs? Isn't like seeking fame contrary to what they believe?

"Fancy stuff"? "Professional"? 🙄 Just a simple dictionary definition. Or is that too "intellectual" for you, Homer? 😕

I don't think "rebel" is the case, but from what I understand he simply turned away from that religion because he wanted to race bikes. Seems it wasn't practical enough of a life's pursuit for his father's liking. However, apparently his Dad's on board with it now.

People don't often completely lose whatever they might have learned while they were young.

Yes and seeking fame and fortune is stricly forbidden in that religion..

oh, I don't think that is always true. Some kids grow up to be complete opposites of their parents. My parents are democrats...poor souls, I grew up [censored] at Jimmy Carter. I suppose you grew up watching "It takes a thief"...:p

I think that? or maybe YOU?

I'm glad to see Floyd hasn't used his celebrity as a political platform. I don't really care what his politics are. The press hounded Armstrong about his "friendship" with Bush Jr and I don't care about that either. \

Landis does seem to me typical of the kind of guy who grows up with too much religion and has no need for it as an adult.

18. Bush's July Approval Ratings

USA Today/Gallup 37%
FOX/Opinion Dynamics 36%
AP-Ipsos 36%
Gallup 40%

I'm surprised they're that high, but I live in a pretty liberal area. Maybe the Texans are voting twice.
