Hi there again.
I am still tweaking my old Miele road bike.
I love the ride this bicycle gives and I need to overhaul the bb. I
bought a sealed cartridge bb which I asked about how to instal in
another post.
I also bought a pair of Welgo clipless pedals for 1/2 price which only
cost me $25 Cdn including the Look style cleats. I needed new cleats
anyway and these cost about $20 Cdn in the shops I visited. Therefore,
in effect the actual cost of these pedals was only $5 Cdn.
I'm not sure what model these pedals are. They are black with a profile
something like the Shimano clipless pedals and W40 is stamped on the
upper surface of each Welgo pedal.
I found these to be fantastically easy to enter when I tried them last
evening. They are easier than the old Looks I have. I fell in love with
them immediately. (My old grey Look pedals are the earlier style that
have that bunnion-like protrusion on the outside edge.)
I am curious. What is to the quality of these pedals and how durable
they can be expected to be?
This store was also clearing out Hutchinson Tech+ Excel Blue 700 x 25C
tires for $10Cdn regular price $28 Cdn. I thought for $10 Cdn/tire I
couldn't go far wrong and bought 3 of them. What is the quality of
this tire?
The store still has a number of these tires in 19 or 20 size but I
prefere 25s because I often ride rail-trails with crushed limestone and
like the rim protection offered by the 25C size.
Once again I extend my thanks and appreciativeness to all those who
give of their time and expertise in these newsgroups.
The store had some Shimano Dual Pivot brakes for $25 Cdn which was 1/2
normal price but, alas, they were too short a reach for my Miele.
Peter.
