  1. Ok, currently im riding a Trek 7100 multitrack hybrid. Im looking into buying a road bike, but im curious as to what the differences are. If i were to buy a road bike what would be different from my hybrid?

also, what road bikes would you recomend for a novice cyclist. im looking to spend as LITTLE as humanly possible for a decent bike.

    Steal one! 😄

  3. A road bike would, hopefully, be much lighter than your hybrid and, as a result, you will go faster, especially up hills. The gearing is much higher, meaning it will be harder to pedal uphill, so it's a good thing it's lighter. You will have many more hand positions on a road bike with dropped bars, but you will not be able to use them if you're overweight; your tummy will get in the way of bending over the top tube. Your riding position is much more upright on a hybrid making it easier to ride for heavyweights. The seat on your hybrid may be further behind the bottom bracket to compensate for a slower pedaling cadence that novice bikers usually use. 😄
