Landis' father-in-law found dead

Sad news. Doubly so if Landis is exonerated.

It points to suicide which would be especially sad for Landis' wife and (step) daughter.

Shame it had to come to this...Landis needs to bite the bullet

I have had much worse happen to me than have a family member be accused of doping and I never contemplated suicide.
I suspect there is much more to this story and feel that it is too early and too easy to put the burden of the world upon Floyd.

Oh, it's insane to blame the doping allegation on Floyd's father in law taking his own life, it obviously that man had other issues.

Oh, and now I find out he is a stepfather, who knew Landis way before he knew Amber's mom...

I heard it probably had to do with financial difficulties, rather than any sort of cycling scandal.

Apologies, it was not my intention to make the doping allegation link = suicide. It is just sad, that is all.

When I read the first reports,one of the things I noticed was that Landis's FIL was a restaurant owner,a notoriously high risk occupation.Most restaurants fail within a few years.
At this stage (and without really knowing much of the circumstances) I would suspect that business difficulties or perhaps personal problems are the cause.
Whatever,it would be pretty callous to blame Landis for it.

The restaurant business has been getting worse lately in parts of the U.S. as the rise in interest rates has put the pressure on those with suicide mortgages, and the SoCal area is ground zero of the suicide loan induced housing madness. Lunch crowds have dropped off a cliff at some places. This is pure conjecture, though. I cannot see Landis' situation would be the cause.

Cause, perhaps not, contributing factor, catalyst? Who knows?

Well, if it was a cause or contributing factor, the FIL should have waited until Landis was confirmed a cheat and the process had ended. If he acted rashly, shows he had other problems.

It's possible for it to be both a rash act and for the Landis affair to have been a contributing factor. And yeah, he shouldn't have killed himself... whether or not his son-in-law used testosterone.

As I concluded... who knows? The answer... none of us. Not you, not me.

Out of respect, I don't think a poster should try to link an apparent suicide to the outcome of a doping test.
That's why I genuinely asked the question of Musette - her post and it's point are in bad taste, I think.
