  1. hi to all a question for tall and not-so tall guys about height... first of all, i like quasilow
racer (hp speedmachine, optima stinger, m5 shockproof), but now i'm in love with highracers ;-) i'm
going to build my own, but i wonder if i'm tall enough: some people saw me that i'm too short to
ride an 26/26" highracer, i have to choose a 20/26" (like bacchetta basso or volae centory, for ex)
i'm 170 cm/6.7 ft tall with an x-seam of 105 cm/3.5 ft, till now i have mostly ride an italian bent
(the 20/20" trevi-bike galaxy) with a seat height of 60 cm/23,6", which is the same seat height of
26/26" aero (23"😉, while the bb is really higher in the aero (obviously): 32" (82cm!) vs 25,5"
(65cm) on galaxy on the galay i feel very good, even when i have to stop ad to restart (btw, i'm
still not an experienced rider, so i'm sure i can do better with more practice) i never had troubles
with my (short) legs to keep the bike in vertical position ;-) the seat on galaxy seems to have the
same angle of the aero (or so), the big difference then is the bb height

the question is: an higher bb at the same seat height may give me troubles? if the answer is 'yes',
when? when i have to stop? when i have to start? always? in fact, i'm talking about high bb vs
    short biker ;-)

    thanks! matteo italia

  2. Sorry Mate 170 cm is 5.7 ft

Hi Matteo, I am the same height as you and my x-seam is about the same or slightly shorter than
yours, and I ride a dual 650C Aerocycle without any trouble. The seat is 24" (60cm) high and the BB
is about 7 or 8 inches higher than the seat bottom. I would think that you should have no problems
    on a similar sized machine.

Best regards, Bruce Shannahoff Los Angeles CA USA
