Tire help

A better TYRE is the Conti GP4000, I have a 23mm pair for each bike, and one pair of Ultra Gator Skins for training. 😉

I've just replaced my GP 4000's with the new Michelin Pro 2 Race Service Course (Special Edition), (these are not the normal Michelin Pro 2 race they are a completely new tire, released this year), these are definitely faster, have better cornering/ in the wet grip and ride softer than the GP4000's. Only issues are untested durability, expensive price from the LBS and light blue color (only one color option). I've ridden 500km without any cuts that have been traditionally seen as a weakness in the Michelin racing tyres. I think the GP 4000's are fantastic tyres as well, but for the same price range the Michelins are a little bit better in all departments, except for durability.

I have a bit tyre dilema at the moment as well. Just replaced a set of gatorskins with the new ultra gatorskins, got 6000k out of the old set.

Now the problem, I can buy gatorskins for around 30$ each and pro race 2 for around $35 each and Gp4000 for around $40 each plus postage from Probikeit. Which one do I go for, I don't race but ride with a fairly fast group of riders in all weather conditions so the tyres get a fair workout. Thanks in advance.

I'd go for the GP 4000's, mine were indestructible, no flats for 2500km using latex tubes (105-110 psi), I'm sure you find them lighter and more supple than the gator skins.
