This is a shameless plug for the North Shore Century this Sunday Sept 17 -- the last day of the summer. It's been raining for days, but the weather is likely to be beautiful. 100, 62, 50, 25 and 8 (family) rides. Food. Trees. Lake Michigan.
The 100 route heads from Evanston, Illinois up to Kenosha, Wisconsin, for a quick ride around the velodrome. (Don't ask them about the Packers.) Get in one more nice ride while the weather is good.

Oh, please do :-)
I don't think I'll be able to get over there on Sunday, though. That stinks, because I could use a good century to burn off some work-related angst.
