Drum brake levers - recommendation needed

What drum brake(s)?
What application? (Tandem Drag Brake for long downhills, etc.)
If tandem, do you want stoker or captain activation?

If for upright Mountain bars:
BRL47 Tektro Adjustable Levers.
These have an adjustment for mechanical advantage, so they work with _all_ types of brakes, including direct-pull ("V-type"😉, center-pull cantilevers, all types of calipers and drum brakes.
7/8" (22.2 mm) clamp diameter.
You might send an email directly to Sheldon Brown or talk with the manufacturers of the brakes to see what they say. It sounds like an interesting project.

My experience with drum brakes (Atom rear on a tandem and single;
Maillard front and rear on a single) over 20 years suggests that you
will need a lever with plenty of travel. My preference is for the old
school MAFAC or Universal levers.

Those look fine for my purposes. I have to purchase a few bits and bobs
from Harris anyway (spare dynamo lamp bulbs and what-not).

Not that exciting, but I figured it was easier to go with drum brakes
than to try and redo my fork/headset/stem/bars/etc. I had to do
something about the brakes as the *ultra*-long reach brakes it comes
with are hideous. It's a Raleigh Twenty with the intended use as a
travel bike.

I've seen similar recommendation elsewhere, but I really wasn't in the
mood for trolling ebay if a reasonable modern equivalent was available.
