Anyone know if the cooking oil found in the oils section of food stores called "almond Oil" is the same as the sweet almond oil that is supposed to be effective as a skin moisturizer? Anyone use it or apricot kernal oil and how did they find it? Do they go rancid fast? Thanks for any help here.

Almond oil used for cooking is usually refined, but at least some almond oils used for skin care are claimed to be cold-pressed (unrefined). They both have been produced from (sweet) almonds. The fatty acid composition of almond oil is similar to olive oil, i.e. it's very high on oleic acid, which is monounsaturated fatty acid and therefore fairly stable. I would expect almond oil to stay good fairly long, at least as long as olive oil.
