How to (or how not to in my case) paint an aluminimum bike frame

There are a few places I know that take bike frames for re-sprays but I'm a gluten for punishment 🙂

Ive had the nightmare job of flatting it back to remove the cracks, and Ive dusted it with a few
coats. Im hoping I can just keep spraying, and then rubbing it down to get a good finish.

I think it will work well but Im not very happy about what they told me.

I use Aluminium etch primer, and then cellulose on top. Im assuming what you said would require me
using the aluminium etch primer and then using a cellulose primer on top of that?

From my experience, it was the cellulose thinners re-softening the primer, which must not have
been a compatible one. You need a cellulose paint
