which I identified for you so that you would know one when you met one. All
newsgroups need to be aware of what a single determined troll can do to you.

Everyone got disgusted and left ARBR for mainly BROL, a moderated forum.
I
have absolutely nothing against moderated forums and believe they are the
wave of the future. All of Usenet is doomed precisely because it is
unmoderated. Frankly, I got disgusted myself with ARBR too because of the
fact that a single criminal vandal troll could so easily destroy it.

So what do I see on the other newsgroups? I see nothing but chat rooms.
No
one will post anything at all seriously anymore because of all the
idiots,
morons and cretins who infest the groups. Even Tom Sherman, formerly the
heart and soul of ARBR, will no longer post substantial messages because
he
knows the group has died and gone to hell.

All of this just because of one criminal vandal troll! If it can happen
to
ARBR, it can happen to your group too no matter how large. Be warned!

thats probably because the group was derilict of duty - you'd probably
all become self ingratiating and to the outsider it was sickening. It
truly was Ed, we did you a favour. Trust me. It was sad.

The group was as you described it above until I showed up and changed it
forever. Believe me, it was anything but self-ingratiating once I took hold
of it. It became a very prickly place and everyone had to stay on their
toes.

Ed Gin's destruction of the group was not motivated by anything the group
was or did. I think he did what he did just to see if it could be done. The
group was very poor at defending itself which of course made it all that
much easier for him. What can you do when everyone turns tail and runs. I
fought the good fight, but I could not become a criminal like him.

The moral of the story is that one bad apple can destroy the barrel, but we
have always known that much, haven't we?

identity is not intricately linked to ARBR . I do not think of myself

Nonsense, everyone knows that Jim is just joking around. No one in their
right mind would ever take anything he says seriously. After all, not only
is he a light weight, but he is the expert on what Ed Gin (a bad troll) did
to ARBR. Ed Dolan is the quintessential good troll and a credit to ARBR.

However, even a good troll cannot save idiots from themselves. Nay, ARBR
was most likely doomed long before either Ed Gin or Ed Dolan showed up. It
was full of nothing but good time Charlies (all liberals) who had no stomach
for contention and controversy. They all proved themselves to be craven
cowards when push came to shove.

The only time Jim ever showed up here on ARBR in those bad old days was when
he brought the Ed Gin - Jim McNamara Carnival Show to the group. It is a
wonder he did not die of embarrassment from it all. I think he is now trying
