Yes, I know Trek isn't popular with some folks here. I'm not really
fishing for comments on how you might feel about them as a whole.
What I am after is any first hand (or second hand, I guess) thoughts on
their new production singlespeed, the 69er. Pretty radical as
singlespeeds go, with a 29" front and a 26" rear wheel.
A friend of mine who is a teammate of Travis Brown quoted Travis as
saying "It's the best bike ever.". That's a pretty good endorsement, but
it's also from someone who's been treated pretty well by the company.
Being an off the record comment, it lends it more credibility IMO. But
then again what he thinks is the greatest may be all wrong for me.
I want to ride one, and I'm working on that, but I'm also interested in
hearing thoughts, good or bad about this bike. Looks kind of fun, and
that Maverick fork looks pretty sweet.
Anyone know much about it?
Matt
