So when is run-out time...??

From memory, in the past three (maybe four?) years it is mid/late July for Giant. Lots of places extend these sales until the stock is moved, so your choices of size/model get slimmer as the year gets on.

abby, i know my local LBS (gap cycles) was having their run-out sale
on treks and practically every other roadie in the store starting the
week before TdF!!

I got mine on sale in September and the LBS had about 5 or 6 marked-down
roadies in stock at the time. They also had a handful of flat bars and
the like. This was in Canberra, so I don't know if that has any bearing
on things?

My new Avanti MTB I got on special as it was a 2006 model - a big discount was
offered without my asking. On asking they gave a bit more 🙂

G'day Mick - long time no see!!

I came into a not-insignificant sum of dough a while ago (related to
the last car vs me incident). I dutifully ploughed it all into the
mortgage to try and save our interest bill a little...

Anyway, the Minister for Finance (you all know who I mean!) has said
that as I 'suffered for the money' *laughs* then I should at least
spend a bit on some bike bling. I'm in no rush, but thought that maybe
I might consider an upgrade (or n+1) whenever the sales come
around...... *grins* But we'll see.....

Not racing this weekend, gonna try my luck on the Southbank Bunch ride
(Brissie, not Melb, for all you insular southerners...).
