    For a serious downhill bike it's very cheap (for comparison a new Orange
    224 will set you back £3,000, or £1700 for the frame alone). There's
    nothing in the kit list which is dreadful. The forks aren't the best, but
    what do you expect at this price? However, it's incredibly heavy, even for
    a downhiller; definitely only for use on courses where you've got either a
    ski-lift or some other form of mechanical uplift to get you back to the
    top, because you are not going to ride this thing uphill - at all.

    In summary, this is a bike to use /only/ on serious downhill courses. It's
    very cheap for what you get. But you're probably going to need to upgrade
    the forks and to be competitive you'll need a bigger chainring and a
    closer ratio cassette.

    Don't even think about it for urban or cross-country riding - it would be a
    complete pig.

    For a serious downhill bike it's very cheap (for comparison a new Orange

    I didn't look at the specs before because I know nothing about
    downhillers, but wow, 50 pounds of bike can't be too easy to wrestle if
    you get some air, and I wouldn't want it hitting me in the neck either.
    I guess it might smooth the bumps a bit better for lightweight riders.

    Probably why when I was looking for an MTB I took one look at DH bikes
    and thought - no thanks!

    Give me a hardtail any time. (At least until I can afford a *decent*
    3-4" full sus frame, anyway :-) )
