Hello
I have been reading lots of threads on LSD rides and base miles over the winter and periodisation with views to peaking for certain races etc and while this all makes sense if racing is your priority, it leaves me slightly confused as to what I should be doing. Hopefully someone can help me?
Heres what I usually do:
Saturday - Ride 2-5 hours - Road/Off Road
Sunday - As above - Road/Off Road
Monday - Rest/recovery spin on turbo - 30 mins
Tuesday - Turbo Intervals - 45 mins
Wednesday- Rest/recovery spin on turbo - 30 mins
Thursday - Off road night ride - 2-4 hrs
Friday - Rest/recovery
Usually on rest days I do pilates and core work.
The rides I do almost always have some hills in them and especially off road its very hard to take it easy as the hills are usually harder in winter due to them being soggy. Am not bothered about racing but want to improve fitness overall.
Cant/Dont want to limit my riding to long low intensity rides but should I then only ride hard(ish) less often now and then more often when spring summer come again?
Thanks..
