Oh darn I missed this one. I wonder did Lance have his lawyer with him ? I read an interview by David Walsh in the English newspaper "The Sunday Times" last year and to David's bemusement Lance only agreed to be interviewed with his lawyer present.
I can just imagine it on the Tonight show with ol' Jay Leno saying "well Lance you really gave us a 100% positive performance in this year's Tour and..." INTERUPTION "my client totally refutes that allegation and unless we get an immediate and full retraction we will .. blah, blah, blah"

Might it have had something to do with something David Walsh or his newspaper had printed about Lance in the past, i.e. a misunderstanding or words or slight misquote?
