  1. its not so much about what these tools in cars who pass you by and shout
    some intelligible drival...

what i find annoying is the FRIGHT

im just riding along, and i get a FRIGHT by some yob who screams some [censored]
in my ear as he passes along in some car.

the thing that annoys me is the fright.

    tossers.

  2. That kind of [censored] doesn't frighten me anymore, as it's happened about 80,000 times over the (far too many) years I've been riding.

What bothers me more, is people like my boss, who insist on harping on about how much they hate cyclists at every given opportunity, and telling me how much they get in the way etc. when they known damn well that I ride bikes. I feel like telling her how I htae all ugly, pretentious, middle aged, Shanghai Prostitute looking women, like her, who drive black convertibles... like her.

I refuse to believe that you have not already told her this 😄

Does that mean more or less make-up than a Bangkok prostitute?

That's what iPods are good for.

    I hardly notice the yellers.

Even if I didn't have iPod I still wouldn't know what they were
    shouting, so no loss.

I'm with you here, even funnier is: a). giving no reaction and monitoring the situation, just in case, or b). if they're a bit closer to the bike, doing mildly obscene tongue gestures back to idiot male cagers, who think (wrongly) because a *female* is riding a bicycle, the logic must be that you're up for rubbing uglies.

No, I'm riding to get somewhere/work/home, just like all the other people sharing the road.

C'mon Lotte, tell us what you REALLY think of her 😄

Same. I'm so over it. I used to get arced up when some [censored] and his
mates in a P plate car came past with a bucket load of verbal abuse.
But it happens so often now it's like water off a ducks back... perhaps
I'm comfortable with being a "[censored] in lycra" as is often the call from
passing cagers. I tend not to get a fright if I can hear a car behind
me because I'm expecting abuse. You can often tell when it's coming
depending on the revs the car behind is doing. High revs means a good
    chance of abuse.

    "I've got a bike
You can ride it if you like
    It's got a basket
    A bell that rings
And things to make it look good
I'd give it to you if I could
But I borrowed it" Pink Floyd

  10. The best one is "get a car". Brilliant when it is yelled from an old Gemini worth about a buck fiddy.

I know how you feel. Someone that knew me saw me out riding one morning and
gave me a friendly beep as they passed. It scared the bejeezus out of me,
simply because I wasn't expecting it. I have a mirror on my commuter these
days and it does help me keep track of what's behind me.

She is actually alright in every other way. She just loves to talk about that particular point, which irritates me because I don't see the frigging point.

"Black convertible? Faaark, how could you drive one of them? Black is the hardest colour to see on the road. Black cars get hit more often than other coloured cars. A convertible? In Queensland? Hello melanoma surgery in 10 years time. And look at what it is doing to your skin now. And accidents in convertibles.......You wouldn't have those lines around your eyes if you didn't drive around in the open car. Gee, you wouldn't get me driving one........"

    Alternatively, just go with:
"Faark orf, ya ugly, pretentious, middle aged, fat arsed, Shanghai prostitute"

Heh. [censored]! I once had a [censored] discharge a shotgun out of the passenger
side window less than a foot from my ear. (This was back in the 80's when
rednecks were allowed to have guns) My ears were ringing for a week!
The latest clown to shout of the window ended up at a red where I caught
them up. Windows were wound up fast when it became apparent I wasn't exactly
    the standard cycling whippet. ;-)

I caught up with a 'tooter' the other day and opened their passenger
door - saw a grossly fat woman and told her she really should try
riding to lose her lard instead of harassing cyclists. She reached
into the back and picked up a walking stick and tried to whack me with
it! I slammed the door on the stick. Hehehe. I felt so deliciously
    naughty.
