I love cycling but why would you head out in that sort of weather unless you
had too???

Is it that important to get a few most probably junk kms into the legs??

There was a triathlon at Elwood yesterday so you may have been seeing
quite a few people returning from that (given there 2500 in the race).

Agree.
Out at 06:30 for me for a leisurely 50kms
17 degrees when I left and 27 deg. 2 hours later when I got home...best
part of the day! Bugger all traffic too.

Ha! Should of been at the Sustainable Living Festival at Fred Square. Our marquee felt like a sweat lodge, especially in the "global warming corner". Good weekend though, the SLF vols seemed to manage well under very trying conditions. 😉

Just a small suggestion - for those of us from the frozen north who are
lurking and reading about the warmth of Australia - make us feel really bad
as we have -30C temperatures - and set out how hot it was that day.

It was 38C on both Saturday and Sunday. The worst part is trying to get to sleep when it's still 30+ degrees... ick.

11degC gets tiring although a bit of damp is great for skidding the fix.
I wish the English had taps outside though so I could refill a bidon without needing to buy something from a shop!

sympathies to those up North....and spare a thought for my buddy who has just moved to Alaska...-50C to -60C at the moment over night, is about -40C often (remember - 40?...where Farenheit and Celcius meet for a quicky) , can get to a mild -10C at midday for some mountain biking on nailed treads and some icey skiing... and they have to keep the hot tub running all the time (cos its outside on the deck and would turn into a bubbly looking ice cream cake).... I think they have a catch and release program for salmon, bears, moose and errant bikers....

I will just happily enjoy Mel-boring and never mention heat and no rain again!
