If you weren't at that place at that time, then I must have waved to
somebody else. It seems unlikely, though, since there cannot be many
bearded recumbenteers using the path on a regular basis.
Almost certainly me, in that place at that time on a weekday. Did I nod
back? I usually would.
I don't remember it, though, I'm afraid. I exchange nods with a lot of
cyclists most evenings (including one I see most days wearing a grey
jacket and riding a red upright, who I'm pretty sure isn't you).
Shame I didn't know who it was, I could have stopped for a chat.
