Rain covers for touring / commuting shoes

    I've been trying to find lightweight waterproof shoe covers for commuting. I
    don't want something that has extra warmth built into them, just a cover.
    Neoprene won't work for me, allergies to that material. Breatheable would be
    a plus.

    I have an old pair of ripstop nylon boots with velcro straps that work
    somewhat, but they are too big and loose for much riding. I had seen some
    black nylon boots online, but it appears they aren't available anymore. Are
    there products I've missed? I'd rather a boot than just a cover, so it will
    go up under the legs of my rain pants.

    I am not talking about a simple shoe cover designed for road shoes, there's
    dozens of models of those. These have to be loose enough to fit over touring
    shoes, and completely cover the foot and ankle.

    The plastic clog shoes don't care if they get wet, and are very light;
    you could simply carry a pair along.

    I am thinking about taking atrip to Toronto to visit the Montain
    Equipment Co-op store there. Do they carry the stuff I see on their
    website in the store? I'd like to handle and check the fit of some of
    the stuff before I spend my money. Besodes the bus to Toronto is
    cheaper than the shipping would be on the items I want.

    I am in Vancouver otherwise I would you invite you for a night but go to the
    MEC site.
    locate the store. or go to the product on their site. they have a button
    to see if it is in store. That's all you need. You could phone the store
    to see what it is for sure.

    I am putting things in my wish list so when it is $150 I get shipping free.
    To the US not sure it is the same. Sometimes I have to return it if I
    ordered something that turned out not to be what I assumed it was. like
    buying shoes. So it may be better to go in then.
