Sorry, can't help there, we never sold that one. Made our "no ti
spindles" line in the sand before that.
I'm going to add my completely inexpert opinion here, more or less
saying "me too" on Mr. Muzi's policy.
I will ride the darndest things: rusty bikes, bikes I got at garage
sales, bikes where I have drilled holes in the stems to act as a cable
stop, bikes with ungodly mish-mashes of components, wheels making spooky
noises with the excuse "well, the new grease should stop it from blowing
up," and so forth.
My firm line has been that no matter what, the places I won't cheat on
are crank spindles and pedal spindles. I also have a general policy
against parts with weight limits, despite being below most of the
typical weight limits.
Why? Simple: Steel is mad strong for a given volume (and heavy!), and
yet nobody tries to shrink or skimp on maximizing the amount of steel
they can get into either conventional square-taper crank spindles or
normal pedal spindles.
This should tell you that in that application, as much as possible of
the strongest stuff possible is necessary. Ti ain't as strong as steel,
for equivalent volumes.
I take this so seriously that given equal pricing (and with the proviso
that my policy is for parts I would have to ride myself, or give to a
rider who I didn't trust to make informed consent), I would take the
steel parts over Ti parts in those places.
The weight limit thing is because I like a safety margin, and I don't
like parts that go out of their way to advertise their marginality.
